Shalby's Play House
A multi-role platform running an entire preschool — bookings, packages, lesson progression and daycare.
Overview
Shalby's Play House needed one system to replace the spreadsheets, message threads and paper records that were holding a growing preschool together. We are building a single platform that four different kinds of user share: parents, teachers, branch admins and a superadmin overseeing every branch.
The hard part is not any one feature — it is that every role sees the same data from a different angle, and it all has to stay correct in real time. A booking made by a parent changes a teacher's schedule, decrements a package balance, and advances a child's lesson plan, all at once.
What we built
- Session booking with week, day and month views, including a horizontal week planner for parents
- Prepaid hour packages that activate on purchase and expire one month later, used or not
- Automatic lesson progression — children are assigned a level, and each session advances it, with manual override for teachers
- Parent portal with per-child progress bars, profiles, feedback threads and event registration
- Daycare module that only appears for families whose package includes it
- Multi-branch superadmin with a full cross-branch activity log and user activation controls
- Event registration open to guests as well as existing parents
- In-app bug reporting routed to the superadmin, and real-time notifications throughout
